您好，大部分美国高中在申请截止日期后，会在3月1日或3月10日左右发录取通知。而其中一部分收到录取通知的学生，会因为收到了很多的录取而需要选择一所学校，那么他拒绝录取offer的学校就会有空出来的名额。而这时这些学校就会在waitlist的学生里，再进行补录。
