留美安全问题是很多学生和家长关心的问题。个人也要做好安全防范措施，包括1.不要随意泄露个人信息，包括家庭住址；2.选择相对安全的居住环境。可以通过网站了解居住地的安全情况：CrimeReports，SpotCrime等；3.避免去或者少去犯罪多发地带；4.不要轻易乘陌生人的车；5.避免日常独来独往，尽量结伴而行；6.夜间避免独自走回宿舍或搭乘公交；一般学校都有完善的报警系统，留学生要多注意相关信息。
